Carman Council has submitted three projects for consideration to the Manitoba Water Services Board five year capital plan.

Mayor Bob Mitchell says the Works and Operations Committee felt that tasks currently on the Town's radar should be on the list; they are work at the water treatment plant, a lagoon expansion and a crossover pipe project also at the lagoon.

"We're looking at our water supply and distribution system and whether we have to expand...and then of course the sewage system. They've got that (and) now it's just a matter of deciding what are the crucial parts, it's all expensive and big big money for our small community. I do believe the crossover pipe, that's in this years' budget, the rest of them are long-term things where we'd have to go and borrow probably millions of dollars."

As for smaller projects on the go, Mitchell says efforts are underway to repair a leak at the local water tower.

Meantime, Council has identified a property as unsightly. Mitchell says a letter will be sent to the owner of the Esso property asking for the site to be cleaned up and mowed.
