"We are going to bring her home one day." That's from Wilfred Catcheway, Jennifer Catcheway's father, who's been looking for his daughter since her disappearance eight years ago, to the week.

Catcheway says they're holding a barbecue this weekend at his home, the day before she went missing.

728 Poplar Bay, home of the Catcheways and location for BBQ"This coming Saturday, that'll be June 18, it starts at 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. There'll be a silent auction at 6:00 p.m. and a candle-light prayer at 7:00. It's at 728 Poplar Bay in the backyard."

He says they're raising funds to continue their search.

"It's for my daughter, Jennifer Catcheway, who's been missing since June 19, 2008. It's to continue to search. It costs a lot of money to go out there, depending on how many people you need to provide with rides. We're going up north. We have leads, and areas we want to cover."

He says the last eight years haven't been easy, as one could imagine.  He notes it hurts to know his wife spends her vacation time in the bush, fighting mosquitoes, and having contracted poison ivy poisoning twice now. Catcheway says support's been a struggle, but they're persistent to find their daughter. He says he's making his own investigations, and takes a camera, and questions people upfront. People usually come forward, he says, but some hesitate, perhaps feeling threatened. It takes a lot of time and has a large impact on all family members, he adds.

Catcheway explains he wouldn't want to see anyone go through what they've experienced. He notes it gets discouraging, having approached some businesses for food for the event, only to find it wasn't donated. He says it's hard for folks to understand what it's like, and only those who are missing family members can relate. Catcheway explains a man told him he lost his small child in Walmart for ten minutes and knows what that felt like, adding he couldn't imagine what the Catcheways have gone through.

He says the barbecue's taking place rain or shine, and they're putting up tarps in case of rain. He adds he hopes he gets the support this weekend to continue their search. Hamburgers, Cheesburgers and smokeys are available, and he invites you to come and spend the day with them.
