The Community Foundation of Portage and District has $280,000 to grant in 2017, and they've not been getting enough recipients to exhaust that funding. Board chair Paul Davidson says he wants more Portagers to know about it.

"People have to be made aware that the Community Foundation has these funds, and absolutely every year has to give it away and wants to give it away. We need to find the right programs to do that, and the right non-profit organizations that are willing to take the time and create granting application and go through the granting process that we have."

He notes the next couple of years they plan on pushing Impact Grants. Davidson adds if they could give $100,000 dollars as they have in the past, they can do it again, and perhaps even more than that.
