During the off-season the Manitoba Motocross Association has made some changes to their organization. MMA President Vern Peters, of Ile des Chenes, explains they have left the national umbrella of the Canadian Motosports Racing Corportation or CMRC.

He explains the change won't mean that much to the riders, however their scores will not be used to compare with riders in other provinces. Peters says they have also decided to change their classifications or categories and that is expected to impact each race day in a positive way. Peters tells us more about the move away from junior, intermediate and pro divisions.

This move also aligns the MMA with other organizations found in the U.S. and some other provinces. Peters points out as they prepare for the 2012 season membership numbers are looking good.

Peters points out they will be working with Criti-Care for medical services this year as the Moto-Medic team retired at the end of the 2011 season.  He shares they have secured insurance that encompasses all of the club’s needs, and promoters from tracks across the province are eager to wave the green flag on the 10 race series.
