Portage la Prairie city council accepted a new report prepared by a consulting firm examining ways to improve Crescent Lake's water quality.

Portage la Prairie Mayor Irvine Ferris. The report, first presented during council's committee meeting in November, was prepared by North/South consultants and looks at ways to improve the water quality of Crescent Lake in Portage la Prairie to increase recreational and aesthetic value. It will now be posted on the city's website for public review.

"There's a huge amount of data in there, also a number of actions that could be taken," says Mayor Irvine Ferris.

One of the most important recommendations in the report is that council and the community decide on what they want to see for Crescent Lake, Ferris adds. "In my mind, that would be the next step."
