Partial Geotextile Tube removal at Delta Beach is scheduled to take place this fall. RM of Portage la Prairie reeve Kam Blight confirmed costs required for companies to engage in the work.

"Because we're still in holiday season, the weather is nice, a lot of increased traffic out at Delta now, the removal of certain portions of the Geotextile Tubes will take place in September, which will be easier for the companies to go out there and do this work. We're looking to start with that around mid-September."

Blight says the work's been specified.

"There'll be 'X' number of strategic cuts put take place. It's authorized for the work to be done. It does have to get final approval from the province, and we've already had discussions with them. These are just some numbers they needed to proceed to the next step. I don't anticipate any problems or delays, and everything should go on as required in September."
