Dissolution is still very possible for the Municipality of West-Interlake.

Reeve Randy Helgason says they don't really have an update on the dissolution process, but he will be meeting with Minister of Indigenous and Municipal Relations Eileen Clarke to hopefully discuss the issue.

"We have an invitation from Minister Clarke to attend a meeting with her on October 27th, and she hadn't provided and agenda but I suspect it's regarding discussion on the petition to dissolved the municipality, and what may -- or may not -- be the outcome for it."

He explains Council's position on the issue.

"Now that we're on side with the citizen group, and supporting them with either the former Ward 1 going to a Local Government District for the time being until the next election in 2018. During that time too, they can search for a new amalgamation partner."

Helgason's pretty sure things will be discussed tomorrow when they meet with Minister Clarke in Winnipeg. The RMs of Eriksdale and Siglunes were amalgamated in 2014.
