Portage la Prairie firefighters, RCMP, EMS, and the Fire Commissioner's Office are on the scene of an early-morning house fire in the city.

The call came in around midnight about the blaze in a house on 15th Street Southwest, near the junction with Saskatchewan Avenue West.

There are reports of a fatality, but so far, they're unconfirmed.
