Portage Collegiate Institute alumnus Samuel Davidson is running for a position on the University of Manitoba's Board of Governors.

Samuel Davidson (courtesy of U of M website)Davidson graduated from PCI a number of years ago and then went on to the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, Portage la Prairie School Division Assistant Superintendent Pam Garnham explains.

"He was actually in the business program at PCI, he won an entrepreneur award when he was in grade 12. So, he went on from PCI and went to the University of Manitoba, right into the Asper School of Business, and he was very successful there. He did a lot of engagement at the university, very involved, and was a very good role model for students."

Garnham notes Davidson is someone who stays connected.

"He stays connected with the community here, he stays connected with the University of Manitoba. When he is in Portage, when I was working at the high school, he'd always stop in and say hello."

Garnham adds he's a really good person and a great candidate for the program.
