Recycling's being discussed in the Municipality of North Norfolk.

Mayor Neil Christoffersen says they're always looking at way to improve their recycling program. He says they've got a new pick-up unit, that works a little too well.

"We bought a very efficient unit, but the downside of that is it crushes everything so good that when we use it for recycling it crushes all the glass up and when we take it to Sprucedale Industries the glass is all broken. It's very hazardous, so to that end we're asking all the people to take the glass out of the recycling, and we'll have one separate day every month that we're going to do glass."

He adds they're also looking at changing their bins.

"This is also a part of keeping the town clean. We're in the process of buying some more combination garbage and recycling bins. What we've found is if you put out just a garbage bin, it gets full of garbage and recycling, and vice versa with the recycling bin. When you get two of them and put them together, people have the choice to put recycling in the proper container, and recycling will go up. So it's just another way to keep things out of the landfill."

Christoffersen's sure that with the few changes their pick up issues will be solved.
