Portage la Prairie's Sunset Palliative Care's holding its second annual Garden Party and Art Show tomorrow at the Pelechaty residence on Island Park.

Volunteer Coordinator Aldene Moroz outlines the event came about last year.

"We were approached by Don Pelechaty a year ago. He wanted to do something for Sunset, and he decided that he would host a party at his home. And it's a beautiful setting for people to come and listen to music, and just support Sunset Palliative Care."

Moroz acknowledges it's a fundraiser.

"Because we have a Memory Garden over at Island Park, donated to us by the City about ten years ago. And the Memory Garden, unfortunately, is needing some extra work. there's a monument there that is starting to sink into the ground, so now we have to get that raised. And it's just a people to sit, and really enjoy life."

Moroz urges you to be part of it, to better understand palliative care.

"We have a lot of our volunteers that are going to be working at it this year. And they're often asked many questions by families. Sometimes families have an inkling that there is a member of their family who is sick, and they're just interested in our services, and what we offer."

Moroz notes the Sharpe Sisters will also be performing and there will be a rainbow auction.

The party runs from 2 until 4 tomorrow afternoon.
