The William Glesby Centre in Portage la Prairie's looking for a new executive director.

Carolyn Gray's resigned, in order to attend the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, to obtain her masters degree in creative writing.

Looking back on her time at the Glesby, Gray sees reaching out to youth as significant.

"I brought the Manitoba Association of Playwrights into PCI," she says, "We developed nine new plays with young playwrights. Two of them were chosen for a province-wide competition. I worked with a young playwright, Camilla Kinnear -- we brought her new play to production at the Glesby Centre."

Gray says the search for her replacement should be complete soon.

"Then I'll be giving some training to the new person in August," she says, "So I'm just finishing off my major final reports to granting bodies right now, and getting a few things in place, and getting everything ready for the new person to move into a very smooth transition."
