Ten graduates received their wings on Friday at a graduation ceremony at 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School in Southport. The graduates will now be posted to Operational Training Squadrons where they will continue to develop the skills necessary to serve Canadians.

Reviewing Officer Brigadier General Mario Leblanc salutes the trainees.Captain Alexander Robinson has gone through the rigorous process of becoming a multi-engine pilot, and says the ceremony was a culmination of years of work.

"My journey is just like anyone else's who's getting their wings today," says Robinson. "It's been a long one. It's been a long road through years of intensive military and pilot training. For me it's been a total of four years from basic training to primary flight training here in Portage and then through the different phases until winding up here to finish it all off."

Robinson will be returning to Seneca College after graduation to finish his degree but will be joining his OTS next year. Robinson's been in love with flying since he was a child, and is overwhelmed this is his new reality.

"I'm going to be honest," says Robinson. "The feeling has yet to sink in, I'm still in the moment. It's all of the work that you've put in. The long days, short nights and early mornings. When it all comes together it's just an amazing feeling."

Robinson was also the winner of the Hal Wishart award, given to the top multi-engine student.
