The new economic development officer in the RM of West-Interlake's just what the doctor ordered. That's according to reeve Randy Helgason who outlines some of Clayton Gibson's activities in his new role.

"He's been here a little over a month. He's made outstanding progress and we're really pleased with what he's done so far. He's good with dealing with people, and seems to be really digging in. And he's doing a good job for his community."

Helgason notes Gibson's been doing a lot of work with their waste disposal site.

"We have to build a new cell. And then we have to do some work on the boom. He's been investigating that. They're the two main things that he's been working on to get some ideas and how to work with that, to get them done in the most economical way, with either granting or that type of thing."

He says Gibson's well known and respected in the business community, and the RM's lucky to see him get on board. Helgason adds the future of the municipality definitely has a bright future with the new officer working on their side.
