Update:

The Dakota Ojibway Police Services (DOPS) confirms this morning's incident involving heavily armed police forces at Long Plain First Nation was a search warrant executed with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team.

Witnesses observed armed police enter a residence just prior to 11 a.m. and exit a short while later. DOPS Sgt. Kristin Tompsett says numerous firearms were located inside the residence, which was vacant at the time of the raid.

No one was injured and no arrests have been made at this time.

Portageonline News has learned there was what appears to have been a stand-off at Long Plain First Nation.

It's been confirmed by Dakota-Ojibway Police Service that an investigation's under way, but they wouldn't comment about its nature, so as not to compromise the ongoing inquiry.

We know SWAT vehicles were on the scene, but our reporter there says they've left, as have other police vehicles.

DOPS has told us more information could be available some time after noon.

We'll keep you updated.
