The mother of a toddler who was injured while having a cast removed at the Portage District General Hospital says her daughter is slowly recovering from the traumatic incident. Lana Roulette says two-year-old Ambriel was very frightened after being burned during the procedure and wouldn't let anybody touch her arm or look at it. Roulette notes Ambriel also didn't want anyone to talk about what happened. She says the whole family has been trying to get her daughter's mind off this scary incident, adding the girl is getting a little bit better as time passes. Roulette notes while the burns are healing, Ambriel's arm will have permanent scars.

She says she has some concerns about how her daughter will react during future doctor appointments. Roulette adds as Ambriel gets older she will have to understand what nurses and doctors are actually there to do and not be scared about receiving treatment. She notes for now they're all just taking things one day at a time.
