A father's search for his missing daughter continues in Manitoba.

Wilfred Catcheway's daughter Jennifer went missing on her 18th birthday, and after a long time of searching across the province, he feels he's getting closer to an answer.

"We've been all over from Grand Rapids, to Gypsumville, to Dakota Tipi, Duck Bay, Duck Mountain, all these areas where all the rumors led us, and there have been dead ends... A lot of dead ends. But, based on the information that I've gotten through the interviews I've done with certain individuals has led me to believe that something occurred in Duck Bay, and that's why I'm out there searching."

Eight years ago when Catcheway reported his daughter to police he felt 'brushed off' and has since taken the search into his own hands. "It costs money, like for gas and a place to stay," he admits. "When the funds run out we basically have to use our own, whatever we can come up with. My wife's pay for one, it costs money to get out there. It's discouraging and disappointing that it has to be this way, but that's where it is."

Catcheway says when he does speak with police, he finds it tough to get any information on the case, and it's quite frustrating.

"When I do ask the police, they can't share or they're not allowed to share information. I don't know where the police are at, but I know where I'm at. I've done my own investigation, and I'm still doing that. It shouldn't have to be that way, there are people that are paid to do that work.

He's urging anyone with information to step up. "It would be nice if someone would come forward. I know for a fact that someone out there is aware of what really took place."

He adds it would be nice to have some closure to all of this and bring his daughter home.
