"We had a great response from the schools," says Tompsett. "We loved the participation. We noticed that Yellowquill School had all their kids out and cheering us on. They were excellent. It was nice to see they came out to support us. We had a running group from Arthur Meighen come out. There were about 30 participants who came out to join us for the run, and there were some from PCI as well."

Grade seven student Medah Fletcher adds her father plays in wheelchair rugby and hasn't been to the special Olympics although some of his teammates have.

Fletcher laughs, saying, "They're all dressed up in pants and long shirts, and I'm sweating in a t-shirt and shorts."
