The Municipality of North Norfolk's finishing up their applications for provincial infrastructure funding.

August 26th is the deadline for the province's new, single-window application process.

Mayor Neil Christoffersen likes the new format, noting they're applying under the road improvement component to repair Fotheringham Drive in MacGregor.

"It's gone into disrepair, and the water's not moving away fast enough in that area, and the water's ruining the pavement. We want to get that water off there, and re-slope everything, and improve the drainage and re-pave it all. We've had the quotes in place, and we're just ready for a start date, but we have to get approval on the grants, so we've put that in already."

Christoffersen notes the issues on Fotheringham have been ongoing.

"I've been the mayor of MacGregor for two years, so I've known about it since then, and even before then, so I would say it's been on the town of MacGregor's books for probably 3 or 4 years. It's taken a while to get this one, but based on priorities, and the amount of money that we have to spend, we can only do so much. We would have like to have done it sooner."

The estimated cost is over $200,000.
