Central Region Athletes are getting back to their normal routines following the end of the Powersmart Manitoba Games.

Swimmer Jared Vachon brought home a few medals from the games and gives his thoughts on the weeklong competition.

"I thought it was a very positive experience because competing at the high of a level gives you a certain nerve like, 'Oh my god, I have people relying on me so I better do good," he laughs.

12-Year-Old Cyclist Ava Matthews-McCulley says it was a new event for her.

"Nothing like this, but the experience was really fun. I got to meet really cool people with the same passion as me."

Vachon's fellow swimmer Sarah Nadeau says competition was a big part of the event, but it was more about networking and meeting people with similar interests."

Portage Swimmer Sarah Nadeau says it was an event she'll remember for a lifetime.

"It was an outstanding experience. It was just so different than any other meet we've been to because everyone is just so positive and having fun. It's about the competition, but it's also about meeting new people and networking into other clubs and meeting new friends."

Vachon adds it was a great way to meet people with similar interests and he looks forward to seeing them again.
