After 6th Avenue in the town of Oakville was extended for a development, one resident now living there has requested the L.U.D. Committee to install more lighting for the street. The RM of Portage la Prairie was contacted, and reeve Kam Blight raised the issue at this week's council meeting.

"There's been a request by the L.U.D. committee for us to take a look at adding additional lighting to 6th Avenue," says Blight. "It's been agreed upon by our council that we'll submit letters to all residents on 6th Avenue and request their feedback and input on the proposed layout of additional lights."

He says one person contacted the L.U.D. committee but there may be others who also want more lights, so the response from the letters of request will inform them of that. Blight adds the committee feels it's something they should inquire about, and all of the residents' opinions are required.
