The Municipality of Norfolk-Treherne is moving forward despite the resignation of four councillors and the release of the Municipality's Chief Administrative Officer.

Municipal Relations presented the Municipality a ruling today -- one Reeve Will Eert is pleased with.

"We do have quorum," says Eert. "The three remaining members will still have quorum at meetings if all attend, may continue to act as council, and make decisions on behalf of the municipality by majority vote, with the minimum of two members in favour."

Eert adds the Municipality has been encouraged to fill the vacant CAO position swiftly. Eert is hopeful a meeting can be put together sooner rather than later to figure out what route to take concerning the CAO position.

"The CAO is the number one priority," notes Eert.

Also, Municipal Relations urged the Municipality to hold the necessary by-elections as soon as reasonably possible. A Senior Election Official is in place and will make that decision.

Eert feels the ruling is a good thing and he adds they will move forward from this.
