This is a significant night for a Portage la Prairie-based rock band.

Wreckin' So's second CD's release party happens at Cowboys Roadhouse in Winnipeg.

It's called Keep Talkin', and lead singer Brent Alarie feels it's the most exciting effort they've produced so far, and credits the addition of Ronny Ladobruk on lead guitar as a major reason.

"It's the same roots. It's blues/rock roots, but it's a lot more intense, and a little bit, maybe, faster-paced, and a lot heavier. Having a full band now -- originally it was just three of us -- and we changed the whole dynamics and structure of the band. I think that the new band is a little bit tighter. I think that there's more volume to the band now."

Alarie outlines how the seven songs on the CD were chosen.

"I've probably written over 200 songs in the last couple of years, and we went through and picked the ones that were the catchiest, or the best tempo, and probably the most structured songs that we have. The good thing about this CD is it's hard rock/blues, but then there's some diversity. There's a little bit of Celtic in there, there's an eastern sea shanty on it. I think it's pretty enjoyable. It's still us, but there's a good variety on there."
