The Riverton and District Handivan in Riverton's came into some good fortune recently. The company received $10,000 and Manager Sherry Rozecky outlines the details.

"We received a grant, and we're going to be using that grant to purchase a new handi-van. The van that we had was a 1999 Crestline and we've had her for 12 years, and she ran beautifully. But she's old and needed replacement, and then finally the transmission went so we've had to decommission her."

Rozecky says the new van is a little smaller, but it should fit their needs just fine.

"We've leased a van from Crestline, a 12-seater bus with a wheelchair. 4 Wheelchairs can go into it, it's a beautiful unit. So we're going to run with it and see if 12 seats are enough because we had 16 before. So, we'll have to see how that all works."

She adds they'll be adding money to a savings account to help with the purchase and upkeep.
