PCI's Choir performed with Michael Gabriel yesterday at the Glesby Centre in Portage la Prairie.

"It was really interesting," says Grade 12 Choir Member Siarra Blight. "It was different because I've never sung with something as big as Michael Gabriel. It was pretty interesting to meet him yesterday and perform with him today. I can cross something like that off my bucket list for sure."

Gabriel says the music is sent a long time in advance so the local talent has time to prepare. Grade 11 Singer Jane Unruh says it was a busy week leading up to the show, and Saturday's rehearsal with Gabriel was an amazing experience.

"In the past week, we were definitely cracking down because we had a festival to go to and we were working on pieces for that. So for the past week, we've just been really focusing, and Saturday with Michael we had a really intense rehearsal. He told us he wanted to have all the criticism out there so we knew what he expected from us. It was really good."

Gabriel says the PCI Choir really did an amazing job.

"When I do these kinds of shows I love involving the community, but I always remind them we're doing a pro show, not a recital so we have to bring it. They really had great tone, great attitudes, and they really seemed to enjoy it. I loved it, I thought they were fantastic."

All the students were happy to take part.
