The Portage and District Arts Centre's gearing up for its spring classes and workshops. Marketing and events coordinator Lee Beaton says they have a wide varierty to pick from.

"Most of our spring classes are starting around the 17th of April. Some are starting the following week," explains Beaton. "We have our normal classes, Busy Bees -- we're offering that on Tuesdays, and again on Wednesdays -- two different classes. We have mixed media, and fundamentals of drawing."

Several other classes take place as well.

Beaton says they try to have everybody's name in for classes by a week before they begin, so they know if they have to cancel or postpone them due to lack of participants.

She adds, "We try not to cancel classes if we don't have to. We prefer to run the classes. And most of the classes we did not want to start right after the Spring break. So, we started them thinking of around the 17th."
