The skies will be a little bit safer in Canada and around the world as 11 pilots received their wings for the Royal Canadian Air Force at Southport yesterday. Lieutenant Alex Lister was one of the Wing Graduates.

"The thing I'm looking forward to the most is finally doing something that isn't training," jokes Lister. "Finally putting all the skills I've gathered into an actual cause and accomplishing a real mission."

The pilots will now move on to their Operational Training Units (OTU) around the country and begin putting their knowledge to the test as they continue their training by going on actual missions. As for Lister, he talked about the experience of flight school.

"It's all about the people. The people around you are what make your flight training great. If it wasn't for them, no one would want to do it."
