Canada's National Ukrainian Festival is slated to take place in Dauphin this August, but preparations for the event have been in high gear for months. President Kayla Gillis says things are looking good, noting they have all their entertainment booked and they've locked in their Master of Ceremonies as well. Gillis says there's always lots of work to do for the festival every year and they add something new each time. She notes "Tik" is the headliner for this year's event, which is exciting because this is a group from Ukraine. Gillis says they've been trying for a while to get "Tik" to come to Canada to do a show for the festival, adding they've had lots of people asking for this group to perform so it was nice that things worked out this year.

She notes because 2017 is Canada's 150th birthday, the CNUF has several new and exciting promotions they'll be offering over the next few months. Gillis adds they're also holding a fundraiser with the 150th birthday as their theme. She says ticket sales for the festival have been going strong and you can buy your tickets on-line at their website. Gillis notes folks should also remember to follow them on Facebook because they're posting daily updates as well.
