Cash, drugs and firearms were seized from two residences on the Peguis First Nation in RCMP raids executed March 3.

Police say in a release, Peguis and Fisher Branch RCMP, along with the assistance from the Emergency Response Team, located and seized more than one kilogram of cocaine, 233 grams of marihuana, seven firearms, and a significant amount of cash in two search warrants exexcuted under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at residences on Peguis First Nation.

“The removal of such a large quantity of drugs and weapons during this seizure in Peguis First Nation will definitely have a positive impact in the community,” said Sgt. Paul Manaigre in a release.

Mounties say two 20-year-old males and three females, ages 21, 27 and 30 were arrested. All five were residents of Peguis First Nation. Police say they will face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as well as the Criminal Code of Canada. They have been released for court scheduled for May 1, 2017 in Peguis, Man.
