Rotary exchange student Emily Davidson spoke this week at the Portage la Prairie Rotary luncheon about her upcoming trip to Finland.
Davidson says she's going for almost a year, and explains what inspired her trip.
"My mother was a Rotary exchange student," says Davidson. "She went to Australia. So, I learned about it through her. And then in Grade 11 I decided that's what I wanted to do, too. I wanted to explore the world and learn more cultures and meet new people."
Rotary programs coordinator Sherrie Palmer adds Emily will be a great ambassador for Rotary, noting she's a good student and an accomplished athlete, exemplifying what Rotary's all about.
