The candidate for the People's Party of Canada in Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa says he has been talking to many people in the riding during this campaign.

Frank Godon says the key for him, has been focusing on what's happening here.

"In this riding, I'm focusing on topics that will work for this riding, and problems that we have in this riding," says Godon. "I do bring out the platform of the People's Party, but people want to hear what I can do for them as their MP, not what a party can do for them."

He says people do seem to be receptive to the platform, including the changes they're pitching for immigration.

"The key issues (in this riding), so far, has been immigration. The People's Party wants to bring immigration down to 150,000 until we get the immigration fixed," says Godon.

Godon wants to see more done for the people on First Nations.

"On different reserves, there's of course, the clean water issue. That's the first thing I get asked," says Godon. "Our platform is, that's a priority for First Nations. Also, to abolish the Indian Act."

Canadians head to the polls October 21st.
