Come out to a Prairie Players first this Thursday, Friday or Saturday. There's an opportunity to see two plays, all with one admission.

The evening will start out with Let Them Howl, a play by Sharon Bajer about Manitoba women winning the right to vote.

Director Fran Myles shares what you can expect from the show.

"There's a lot of humour in it, there's a certain amount of role reversal. There's a lot of characters that you're going to recognize from real life; the university student who really doesn't want to be where she is, the husband who is not too sure what happened to his life when the women are not doing what he expects them to do. We have the humour of Nellie McClung, who is famous for changing things around and making people laugh."

She adds despite the play being set a century ago it still speaks to how far we've come and how far we still need to go in terms of social equality.

The second play will follow intermission and features the humorous adventures of an accident-prone elderly couple.

Stephanie Kauffman plays the role of Alice and she shares what you can look forward to.

"Alice is a very accident-prone lady who likes to try everybody's patience but is very loveable. In the midst of all her accidents it's kind of showing how to be safe for seniors and it's quite a comedy."

She notes seniors may be able to relate to some of the incidents faced by the characters but adds hopefully not every single one as the play is very physically active.

Portage Services for Seniors was given a grant from Southern Health Funding to put on the play as an educational promotion on safety for seniors. The play is titled Flashback to You and was written by local student Camilla Rose Kinnear.

Tickets are $15 and you can pick them up at the Glesby box office. Doors to the theatre open at 7:00 with the first play beginning at 7:30.
