Great weather greeted fans of the Prairie Wind Music Festival in Cypress River over the weekend.

It began in 2013, and organizer Stan Anderson's one of the founders of the event. He's worked in the music industry for many years, and says this festival's pretty incredible.

"The people that come -- we get somebody new to come," he says, "And they come back every year, which is really exciting -- people that want to return every year. I'm continually told that this is their favourite festival of the year. And there's a reason for it -- the town's beautiful, the site's beautiful, we get really great bands that just want to come and play. We get lots of bands coming to ask us to come play this festival."

Anderson points out money raised by the festival has a couple of purposes.

"All the money that we raise, if any, gets kicked back into community projects," he says, "Or re-invested into the festival. So, it's all about keeping the vibe in Cypress River alive, and upgrading the facilities here. Upgrades to the playground, and upgrades to the community centre, and whatever else we can do to keep Cypress River as vibrant as ever. This is a wonderful little town."
