Speech Language Pathologists Alana Jack(left) and Britney McLaren(right) present the concept of Preschool Parties to the Portage School Board.

The Portage School Board got a chance to learn more about preschool parties earlier this week.  Language Speech Pathologists Alana Jack and Britney McLaren showed the board the positive affects on preschool children.

Jack says parents can get a lot of information while the kids get familiar with the school.  She adds they will give your child a package of school supplies to help them get ready and excited for school.  McLaren says it gives them, as speech pathologists, an opportunity to determine if a child would benefit from speech therapy.  Jack says the parties help the kids become familiar with their new school.  She adds they also use the parties to get information to parents about early childhood and language development.  Jack and McLaren say the kids loved the time they spent with the other children and parents find social contacts for future playdates.  Contact the school of your choice to find out when the next preschool party will be.
