Following some adjustments required for the Delta Beach campground plans, efforts are moving ahead for a July long weekend opening.

"We just found out that all the picnic tables and fire-pits have arrived," says RM of Portage la Prairie deputy reeve Roy Tufford. "They're at our operations yard. We're going to soon be talking to Jeffries Nursery. They just donated several trees. So, we have to set up a time to coordinate that and get those trees planted."

Tufford explains a small registration building has been delivered to the operations yard and is to be moved to the campground. He notes there are also some changes required for the location of the service poles. That should take place soon.
