The 2017 budget for the Municipality of Westlake-Gladstone's completed, and ratepayers be able to give their feedback on it.

A public meeting's scheduled for May 2nd in the municipal Council chambers.

Mayor David Single says it'll follow the regular public works meeting, at 6.

"And pass first reading of it," he says, "And then hopefully by the May Council meeting, we will pass the final second and third reading of our budget. So, the (May) 16th will be the regular Council meeting where we would hope to pass second and thrid reading."

Single says this year's budget will see a 3% municipal tax jump.

"The other thing is, I believe the school division is looking at a 13% increase," he says, "So unfortunately, people will see more of a rise in their taxes than just the municipal taxes."
