Portage la Prairie RCMP is trying to locate a 32-year-old Long Plain First Nation man wanted on multiple charges.

Police say Gregory Kyle Meeches is currently at large on a warrant for his arrest and presently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and failing to appear in court as required.

He is described as an indigenous male with a heavy build, standing 6-foot-2 tall and weighing approximately 280-pounds. Meeches has dark brown hair, often cut in a Mohawk fashion, and brown eyes.

WANTED WOMAN

Portage la Prairie RCMP is looking for a 35-year-old Long Plain First Nation woman wanted on a warrant for her arrest.

Mounties desribe Constance Stephanie Meeches as an indigenous female with a heavy build, standing 5-foot-5 tall, and weighing approximately 190-pounds. She has black shoulder length hair and brown eyes.

Meeches is presently charged with shoplifting, and three counts of failing to comply with court imposed conditions.

STOLEN VEHICLE UNDER INVESTIGATION

Portage la Prairie RCMP is seeking assistance from the community in locating a stolen vehicle.

Police say on the morning of March 6, at 3:48 a.m., officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of 6th Street NE. Home owners heard their dogs barking loudly around 3:15 a.m., and became concerned when they didn’t stop.

Mounties say residents soon noticed that several items were missing from their home, including cell phones, cash and video game systems. Suspects also found the keys to a white 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, which was stolen from the driveway. The vehicle was last seen with Manitoba license plate GCK 628.

Investigators are asking that if you spot this vehicle you contact police immediately with its whereabouts. Do not approach the driver or any other occupants.
