The RCMP is investigating a number of reported thefts or mischief to property crimes reported in the RM of Portage la Prairie along PR 227 overnight Tuesday.

Police say multiple residents woke up Wednesday morning to find property missing, and vehicles damaged or stolen. Officers have been attending homes between PR 430 and PR 240. Stolen from one property was a blue 2004 Ford F-250, last seen with Manitoba license plate HMV 420. At least one other vehicle was attempted to have been stolen.

“We believe with the location of everything that took place and the frequency of the incidents, this would lead us to believe they are all related,” says RCMP Const. Sean O'Keefe. “We are looking for any evidence that might positively link all these incidents together, and encourage anyone else who may have been victimized (Tuesday night) to contact us.”

No suspects have been identified by police.

Investigators are asking that anyone effected by property crime along PR 227 or across the Central Plains area contact the Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445. If you know of who is responsible for these crimes, please contact your local police detachment as soon as possible. Anonymous tips can be made through Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS and www.manitobacrimestoppers.com. Tips leading to the identification and prosecution of those involved could receive substantial cash awards.
