Portage la Prairie's PCU Centre was buzzing for yesterday's RCMP's Musical Ride.

The afternoon and evening shows were performed in front of a full house, with people coming from all across the province to catch it. Winnipegger George Wiebe was impressed with the show.

"The dogs were very well trained, and all the horses and that were very well trained. They were moving so straight and following one another, and the crowd was just super."

It was Portage's Verna McEwen's second time taking in the event. She didn't know what to expect with the show being indoors.

"I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've seen them before, but I've never seen them in an arena like this. So I was kind of interested to see how they would manage to get that many horses in the arena."

Wiebe's hopeful it'll come back soon.

"I would say that Portage is quite fortunate to have this, and I hope they do it again soon."

The Musical Ride is in Austin today, and in Winnipeg on the weekend.
