**UPDATED**

The RCMP conducted a significant drug bust in Portage la Prairie last Friday.

Portage RCMP Media Liaison Constable Sean O'Keefe says it happened around 10 at night.

"We executed a search warrant on a motel room on 20th Street Southwest here in Portage la Prairie," he says, "and it is a significant drug bust, in regard to a seizure of cocaine, crack cocaine, amphetamines, prescription pills, and a seizure of cash, as a well as a stolen handgun."

Two suspects were arrested -- one is 30 year old Lisa Hallson, the other is 31 year old Code (Cody) Ouelette. They're both from Winnipeg, and face a lengthy list of charges, including three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, and Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition. They remain in custody.

"We're always looking for any network going on in regard to organized crime or drug trafficking," O'Keefe says. He continues, "The two charged here are both from Winnipeg, but we're looking at their connections to the Portage area, as well as their connections within Winnipeg, and trying to look at what the bigger picture is."

The street value of the drugs is $1500. The handgun's value is $1000.
