Impending potential flooding's on the minds of municipalities across the province, and the RM of Coldwell's no exception. Reeve Brian Sigfusson says things may bode well under certain circumstances.

"Our ground is saturated," notes Sigfusson. "Any snow or rain we get is going to sit on top. And it also depends on how much comes out of the south and west. St. Laurent, St. Ambrose, ourselves, Eriksdale isn't affected very much."

He notes several other communities including Ashern and Moosehorn are usually affected, though. Sigfusson's been talking with the two governments who've indicated they'll keep him updated on the issue. He says something is taking place in the north involving the outlet channel, perhaps opening it up. Sigfusson notes they're also committed to working with first nations in the RM.
