The Portage Rotary Club held a successful pancake breakfast this past weekend at the Canada Day festivities.
Portage Rotary Club President Peter Fedak says they served over 480 people at the breakfast and made well over $2,000. He notes they had way more people than they've had before.
"So we were cooking pancakes as fast as we could in both kitchens, even though we started at 6:30 in the morning. You try to build up that stock-pile. A great turn-out like that, it's hard to keep up. So even at 11:00 we had to cut off the line and we sent them over to the United Way lunch which started up an hour early."
Fedak says it was great to have multiple fundraisers going and plenty of people to come out to support both.
