The Portage Rotary Club's holding a pancake breakfast at Stride Place this Saturday. Secretary Natasha Repko says the Club received the request a few months ago.

"We were approached by the Hometown Hockey Committee in December about putting on the pancake breakfast," explains Repko. "We are preparing for about 500 people, and it's $5.00 a plate."

President Cathie MacFarlane says they're partnering with the assisted living organizing group who are planning on constructing an assisted living facility here in Portage. She says it's their initial fundraiser, so that group will be working with Rotary during the breakfast. It takes place on Saturday at 10:00 am and runs until noon.
