The Municipality of North Norfolk's going to see more rural water system hook-ups this summer and fall.

That's from Mayor Neil Christoffersen, who tells us it'll be a $3,000,000 project.

"We keep applying for grants," he says, "And we were notified last year that we got 1.5 million from the federal government. So we have to match it -- 25%, and 25% from the Water Services Board. So we did that, and then we started canvassing, and we got over 50 people lined up, all through the municipality, that are going to hook up."

Christoffersen's excited about this year's project because it covers most of the municipality, and work began July 10th.

"Shovels are in the ground," he says, "All the contracts have been let out for all the booster stations, because there is some escarpment here that the water has to be moved up, so we're putting in booster stations as well, so there's lots of planning to do with this project."

Christoffersen anticipates they'll be done by October.
