The fire that tore through J.A Cuddy School in early September just days before the beginning of the 2016-17 school year is almost finally cleaned up.

The fire broke out during a roof construction project that was taking place over the summer months destroying multiple parts of the school and causing extreme smoke damage.

"Things have been good, currently almost all the students have been attending their regular classes at the Sanford collegiate, the point is that we were all able to stay in Sanford, and together that was what was important to us," says Principal of J.A Cuddy School Scott Thompson.

The school has been partially put back together and will now continue with the scheduled construction that was to take place during the summer months, repairing the roof and giving the school a bit of a facelift.

"Currently, we are already starting the plan of returning to the actual building J.A Cuddy. We will get half of the building back for now with the other half being completed within the next six to eight months."
