The Portage Vintage Cruisers' annual "Show and Shine" takes place Sunday afternoon in Island Park. Spokesperson Bob Brownridge says registration begins at 10 a.m. and the show will run from 11 till 4. Brownridge notes this event is free to the public and admission for show participants is a tin for the bin. He says Central Plains Cancer Services will operate a food booth throughout the afternoon and all the tins collected will go to the Salvation Army's food bank.

Brownridge notes this event has been running in Portage la Prairie for over thirty years and usually attracts more than a hundred vehicles, including vintage cars, motorcycles and special interest vehicles. He adds Island Park is the perfect setting for the show and it's a great place for a family to spend a Sunday afternoon. Brownridge says most of the businesses in town have contributed items for the rainbow auction, noting all funds raised from that portion of the day will go back to local charities.

In case of inclement weather on Sunday, the rain date for the "Show and Shine" is June 18th.
