Southport Airport & Commercial Properties announced Tuesday they're taking on management of the 5-pin bowling alley situated in the Central Plains RecPlex facility.

"The lease was up with the current leasee, and we have seen quite a need," says CEO Peggy May. "The renovations with the RecPlex have been going on this last couple of years. Accessibility is a big factor, and innovation and what's new is a great opportunity for us. So, were excited."

Everything should be finished in the fall of this year, and the facility will be closed until renovations are complete.

A new name is being given the bowling alley along with announcement of operation hours near opening time.

"We're kind of excited about the ability to run the bowling alley ourselves, and maybe introduce some new ideas," she adds. "We're going to introduce glow blowing, and make sure the facility is accessible, and offer some food and beverage opportunities down there. We're undergoing some renovations right now, and we expect we will be closed for a little while."
