The Tupper Street Family Resource Centre's had a helping hand from a student taking her practicum there. Kenzie Letkeman's originally from Portage and has been at the Centre for a couple of weeks now.

"I started March 13th, and my last day is April 28th," says Letkeman. "It's been really good. Most of my practicums have been in a group home or residential with youth who are more at-risk. So, this has been more interesting because it's been more of the preventative work with families. So, it's different than anything I've done before."

She says she's lived in Winnipeg and has done youth work in British Columbia, but wants to be part of her home community here. Letkeman notes she's working part-time at Addictions Foundation Manitoba in Southport, and hopes to continue there with more hours including some volunteering and getting involved in different ways. She adds she loves it there.
