Dakota Tipi First Nation held an economic development workshop Monday focusing on starting a business, and several ideas were discussed.

Economic development officer Clinton Pashé shares some of the interest presented.

"There was interest in retail; mostly retail in the Portage area such as nail salons and children's ventures, and where we could seek funding for ventures such as that."

Pashé outlines some of the ideas discussed.

"There was a lot of interest in terms of business plans such as a confectionary children's stand, a First Nations store, or First Nations wholesale outlet. This would allow First Nations to deliver products to other First Nations businesses when other First Nation communities require a supply and demand centre for products such as Coke and things."
