The RM of Woodlands has set up tipping fees at the Woodlands lagoon. Council approved the measure at yesterday's meeting.

Reeve Trevor King says dumping into it wasn't permitted before it was expanded.

"But we did implement tipping fees in the Warren lagoon, of $13.00 per load," he says, "So now that the lagoon expansion in Woodlands is completed, we're going to allow dumping back into the Woodlands lagoon, but we felt we needed to do the same as the Warren lagoon, and have the tipping fees there as well."

King says it'll be good to have two lagoons available.

"Not that there were any capacity problems within that lagoon (Warren), but now that the one in Woodlands is open, it certainly is going to be closer for some of the contractors dumping in that particular area, so they won't have to travel all the way to Warren in order to dump."

King adds they received approval from the Public Utilities Board for the tipping fees at Woodlands.
